Description
Collaborative Strategic Reading is a set of reading comprehension strategies that supports students’ content learning as they read science and social studies texts. The practices include a text previewing routine, a main idea strategy called get the gist, and a self-questioning routine.
These lessons provide elementary school teachers a step-by-step guide to introduce Collaborative Strategic Reading to students in grades 3–5. The lessons can also be used in Tier 2 and Tier 3 intervention classes for middle and high school students.
