Overview
This research project provides professional development and materials for middle school social studies teachers to implement text reading, student discussion, and concept knowledge strategies designed to increase student engagement, reading comprehension, critical thinking, and content understanding. Research is based in U.S. history classrooms and is designed to examine the efficacy of PACT practices on students with disabilities in the general education classroom.
Eligibility
We are partnering with middle school general education teachers who teach at least two class sections of U.S. history.
Compensation
Participating teachers receive a 1-day professional development, in-class coaching, and all project materials at no cost. Compensation is provided for participation.
