MCPER Executive Director Sharon Vaughn has won the Jeannette E. Fleischner Award for Outstanding Contributions to the Field of Learning Disabilities. The Division of Learning Disabilities of the Council for Exceptional Children issued the award, which honors those who have advanced the field of learning disabilities through direct services, policy development, community service, research, and/or organizational leadership. Dr. Vaughn received the award in recognition of her seminal research on response to intervention and English language learners.
