The Effects of Student and Text Characteristics on the Oral Reading Fluency of Middle-Grade Students

Description

This study focuses on oral reading fluency with regards to student characteristics (e.g., sight word reading efficiency, verbal knowledge) and text features (e.g., passage difficulty, genre) for middle school students. Findings support that student text characteristics and text features should be considered while assessing individual differences in oral reading fluency.
