Marty Hougen, principal investigator of the College and Career Readiness Initiative: English/Language Arts Faculty Collaborative, gave two talks at the International Dyslexia Association annual conference on November 10 and 11 in Chicago. On November 10, Hougen presented College and Career Readiness: Challenges and Opportunities, which explored teacher education practices and support resources. Hougen’s talk on November 11, Active Student Engagement: The Key to Effective Instructional Delivery, focused on maximizing student participation, critical reading skills, and teacher training.
