Distinguished Lecture Series
And Other Events
MCPER hosts three types of events throughout the academic year:
- The Mollie Villeret Davis Distinguished Lecture is an annual event targeted toward researchers and practitioners. The lectures and discussions focus on addressing educational risk both through current, practical issues in education that can be applied in classrooms and through questions, methods, and analyses applicable to research efforts.
- The MCPER Distinguished Lecture Series brings expert researchers in the field of education to The University of Texas at Austin to discuss advances and new findings in their research agendas in relation to educational risk. This diverse group of faculty members enhances our understanding of identifying and addressing educational risk and exposes MCPER staff members and other researchers at UT-Austin to the latest advances in the field.
- Brown Bag events are a series of professional development presentations for MCPER staff members and colleagues that focus on ongoing research at the Center.
